I am a Portuguese student with a Master's in Bioengineering and a background in the area of nanomedicine in targeted cancer therapies.
In line with my research background, I have recently embarked on a joint PhD between Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and The University of Melbourne. My project focuses on the development of advanced 3D tumor models and multifunctional nanomaterials for light-mediated cancer therapies. During this time, I will benefit from the expertise of Prof. Susana Rocha (KUL), Prof. Paul Mulvaney (UOM) and Dr. James Hutchison (UOM) to design improved nanoformulations using novel preclinical models that thoroughly recapitulate the in vivo tumor features.
