Interatomic force laws that evade dynamic measurement

Prof John Sader and colleagues have recently published a new article in Nature Nanotechnology. The work has been written up in an article in Pursuit titled "Measuring forces in atoms that don't want to be measured". In the Pursuit article, the blind spot in measuring atomic force is discussed and John discusses the importance of his new mathematical theory and method to assist AFM practitioners.
